These tours are especially suitable for those who want a little more comfort. You will not spend your nights in yurt camps but in guesthouses or small hotels. Elderly people can also participate in these tours without problem.

You make a trip around Lake Issyk-Kul, a beautiful lake in the eastern part of Kyrgyzstan at an altitude of 1600m. . On the north shore you will visit an open air museum with petroglyphes, rock drawings from the 3th- 1th century B.C. In Karakol, the largest town on Lake Issyk –Kul you will spend two nights. Here you can visit the Russian- orthodox cathedral and a mosque originally built as a lama temple. There is a day trip to the flower valley Djeti Ögus. At this time of the year all the spring flowers are blooming in the Alpine meadows. It is also possible to visit a spa built during Soviet time and still in operation. Here you can take a bath or get a massage. Do not expect anything luxurious it is still functioning as it did in Soviet times! Along the south shore you continue to Kochkor, a centre for felt.. On the way you will visit a village famous for yurt production. . Here the making of a yurt will be explained and you will see the craftsmen at work. In Kochkor you can visit several workshops where handmade felt articles from the region are made and sold.

During the 14 day tour you will be in Bishkek during the festivities of Victory Day. This is a day in remembrance of the end of the second World War. Each year there is a big celebration with music, dance, singing and a parade. In theatres and the opera special performances are given in honour of the veterans. You will, of course, have the opportunity to attend these festivities. You will make an excursion to Ala Archa National park, about 40 km west of Bishkek. On the last day of your stay no program is planned so you can make your own plans. During the 12 day tour there will not be special festivities in Bishkek.

An interpreter will be available during the whole tour. The maximum number of participants is 8. Transportation is by minibus, in Bishkek you will stay in Hotel Umai, (www.umai-hotel-kg.com), during the trip in guesthouses or hotels.

Everything is included in the price, except flight, visa and bottled drinks. A visa can be obtained upon arriving at the Airport. Prices of flights depend on the airline company, place of departure and date of booking. Up to and including January 2012 it is possible to buy cheap flight tickets. (Amsterdam-Bishkek around 550 Euro).
